New Zealand Greenstone Pounamu, or New Zealand Greenstone or New Zealand Jade is a type of Jade called nephrite.

Pounamu is known as the God Stone of the Maori people.
Traditionally, Maori have embraced this stone as a talisman and believed in its spiritual powers to evoke strength and prosperity, to protect, express love and kinship, and to depict growth and harmony.

Maori tradition says it is bad luck to buy Pounamu for yourself – so make sure you gift it to a friend!
