Along with the Megalodon Shark, the Mosasaur was one of the greatest Sea predators to have ever lived!
Species Name: Mosasaurus sp.
Country of Origin: Morocco
Age: Upper Cretaceous
A prehistoric reptile – not a true dinosaur – that swam, having adapted legs into flippers (similar to the evolution of whales). With a sturdy neck and skull up to 6ft long., Mosasaurs were major predators in the Cretaceous seas. Pterogoid (throat) teeth helped prevent prey escaping.
