Known as the tree of life Baobab trees distinctive silhouettes loom over the acacia scrubland.
Able to live for up to 5,000 years these trees are a vey long lived plant. They reach up to 30 metres in heigh and have a canopy circumference of 50 metres.
Baobab trees often provide shelter, food and water for both animals and humans, which is why many savannah communities have made their homes near Baobab trees.
