Pteranodon a prehistoric flying reptile featured in many dinosaur films andcartons, had a long bony skull crest, which may have been used for stability in flight or as a rudder. It had a toothless beak, like the birds of today.
Pteranodon its name derived from Greek words meaning ‘wing'” and ‘toothless’, is a genus of ‘pterosaurs’ and fossils of this creature date from about 90 million to 100 million years ago.
